Wednesday’s Wine

March 9, 2017 1 Comments

As a lot of my close family and friends know, I love wine.  Often you’ll find my husband and I relaxing on our balcony simply enjoying a glass of wine while we catch up.  Just about two years ago, Mike and I moved from Philly to New York.  Once we were settled into our new apartment, we walked around our neighborhood to get a feel for our new space.  We quickly stumbled upon the CUTEST boutique wine shop, called Bibber and Bell. (they’re website is down currently, but I called to let them know and they’re on it!)  They’re so cute that they offer free wine tastings every Friday. If you’re looking for a unique wine, Bibber and Bell is your spot. It also looks like it’s a wine shop out of the movie You’ve Got Mail.

I’ve decided to share something a little different than clothing posts, and I’m looking to make this a weekly post on my blog, calling it Wednesday’s Wine.  I’ll showcase a favorite wine, whether it’s from Bibber and Bell, or any other shop in the city.  I’ll give you my thoughts and provide a rating.  Obviously I’m nothing close to a sommelier, but I know what I like and what I don’t like, so I will share that with you.

Here we go!

Name: le Sciare Primitive Rocca Normanna

Rating: 7/10

Origin: Italy

Price: $10 (great price!)

Medium-full bodied

Thoughts: The best way to describe this wine is that it’s an Italian version of a Zinfandel.  I tasted spicy blackberries, which for me is a great winter wine. Mike and I paired it with pizza, which wasn’t the best idea.  If we pick this up again, which we most likely will considering it’s a great wine for the price, I would pair it with a stew or steak.

I hope you enjoyed this little Wednesday treat!
